Clonakilty Food Co. is an Irish family-run business, passionate about bringing our family of great tasting products into homes across Ireland and further afield. Our story dates back to the 1880s in West Cork where Clonakilty Blackpudding was first made in Harrington’s butcher shop using a secret recipe. The recipe was carefully passed down through the generations and when Edward Twomey bought the butcher shop in 1976 he inherited it along with a loyal local customer base.

Thanks to Edward and his wife Colette’s passion and determination Clonakilty Blackpudding soon became a household name. Since then the product range has grown to include Clonakilty Whitepudding, Clonakilty Sausages, Clonakilty Rashers, Clonakilty Veggie Pudding and Veggie Sausages and most recently Clonakilty Dinner Sausages and Clonakilty Spice Trail Puddings.

Now owned and run by Colette Twomey, Clonakilty Food Co. is still very much a family business and the butcher shop is still trading at 16 Pearse Street, Clonakilty. The company continues to grow with a focus on innovation but one thing that will remain untouched is the Clonakilty Blackpudding secret spice mix which, to this day, is only known to Colette.
